What is wise and wisdom？

We talked about wise and wisdom last Saturday during the class. BBC 6 minute English show tell us that wisdom is something that usually comes to us as we gain more knowledge and experience in life. And a wise person knows and understands how to make sensible decisions based on that knowledge and on those experiences even when the decisions are difficult.

I agree it but I would define it in different way. I think a wise man has good Intelligence Quotient. But to become wisdom, you have has good Emotional Quotient too. When a trouble comes you might solve it with your IQ. But there might have other persons, evens or emotions to affect you make wrong decision.

As we always say that a good student in school might not be a good employee in the company. Cause in the school, you would only have to get good grade. Then people assume you are a good student. But when you join the society, which is more complicate. Cause you will not only have to cooperate with your co-workers and you have to try you best to not offence your supervise but it’s not all.

The shows also mentioned communication is the key to success and an opposite thought －silence is the key to success. I totally agreed in both thought. I think good communication must listen to the other people’s thought, so you have to know when to be silent. That would be easier to get consent with others when you know what others wented. Which can also avoid argument with others, and then you should have good relationship at work. After all that might help you to settled your work more efficiency.

Do you know the hottest news of this week in Taiwan？ CNN reported it a day ago that Taiwan’s Former president Chen Shui-bian is arrested for allegations of corruption and money laundering. BBC almost real time report every news in Taiwan about our ex-President Chen Shui-bian who has been formally taken into custody. ETTV said Chen Shui-bian is charged with corruption, money laundering, forging documents, taking bribes and embezzling at least $21 million in government funds.

Chen Shui-bian was been sent to the jail early on Wednesday. He has not eaten anything every since. His lawyer just makes a ten points statement for his hunger strike. Actually, this news has been reported for months already in Taiwan. We practically see the following story about this news on TV or news paper everyday. Some people says ” He is finally been locked up” or ”Lock him up until he dies！ ”. A funny thing is some people even sets off firecracker to celebrate. But some people say this is political prosecution.

In my thought, when he came Taiwan first Democratic Progressive Party Present in 2000. It is a big step forward in our democratic politics. But I was so confused when he winning the second tern of Taiwan President in 2004. Because I can’t figure out the reason of his winning.In 2008, he is the first former president been accused of money laundering, hiding secret documents in Taiwan. My thought, it is a big step forward in our judicial system. But most importantly, I feel so shame about what other people would think about Taiwan after this news has been broadcast all over the world.
